Sullaway Engineering, Inc. is a national structural engineering firm led Michael F. Sullaway, P.E., and Britta Anne Sullaway. Working alongside a team of engineers and project managers, Michael and Britta make it a goal to foster long-term business relationships, provide excellent customer service, and deliver economical engineering designs in a timely manner.

Since 2009, the team at Sullaway Engineering, Inc. has engineered thousands of structures in national business sectors that include restaurants, retailers, hotels, petroleum, automotive, hospitals, hospitality, sporting and entertainment complexes, amusement parks, airports, banking, schools, and more. Their expertise extends to include structural engineering of signs, awnings, tension fabric structures, remodels, and large business conversion or expansion projects. Michael F. Sullaway, P.E., President and CEO of Sullaway Engineering, Inc., holds professional engineering licenses in 49 states, including the District of Columbia, and has affiliate engineers in Hawaii and the Canadian provinces.

Engineering Expertise
Michael Sullaway manages a team of licensed Professional Engineers and Structural Designers. Our team members have experience and knowledge of municipality requirements in addition to having excellent relationships with city plan checkers throughout the United States. Since the company’s inception in 2010, our team has engineered over 30,000 projects.

Quality Designs
Our firm uses the most up-to-date engineering software programs to provide you with accurately detailed designs done in accordance with the latest engineering codes. Structural drawings and calculations are performed using AutoCAD, RISA-3D, M-Panel and MecaWind software technology.

Each client receives one-on-one attention throughout the entire process. As the Engineer of Record on all projects, Michael F. Sullaway personally manages and oversees every project and works directly with the client to ensure the engineering design is cost-efficient. He is readily available on his cell phone even after business hours if a client has a question. Our firm understands that when you have crews in the field, sometimes you need immediate answers. We guarantee that we are there to answer questions and help resolve matters that arise.

To ensure our clients get their projects permitted on time, we understand the importance of communicating effectively and quickly with the plan checkers and engineers of municipalities. We make it a priority to resolve questions and make modifications if necessary to ensure your project is permitted on time.

    PRESIDENT AND CEO

    Michael serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sullaway Engineering and holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the esteemed Jacob’s School of Engineering at the University of California, San Diego. Licensed in the 48 contiguous states, including the District of Columbia, he serves as the Engineer of Records for all applicable projects, providing management and oversight for the work of the Sullaway Engineering’s licensed P.E.'s and associate engineers on staff.

    Michael has been instrumental in supporting state sign associations and has developed “Standardized Sign Engineering” for most of the Western United States. Prior to starting Sullaway Engineering, Michael worked for prestigious international bridge design firms, as well as research and design firms specializing in nuclear containment structures.

  • Britta Anne Sullaway

    VICE PRESIDENT AND CFO

    Britta Anne serves as the Vice President and CFO of Sullaway Engineering and has a BA in Communications from the University of California, San Diego. Prior to launching the firm, she held marketing and business development positions in the medical industry. She also brings 20 years of experience as CEO and owner of a small adult residential facility business including managing day-to-day operations, budgets, state contracts, personnel, and compliance with state regulations.

    She utilizes that wealth of expertise in her position as she oversees the administrative team and leads business development, strategic planning, and marketing. She also manages state regulatory and compliance requirements for licensure, and taxation, as well as registration with the Professional Engineering and Land Surveyor’s State Board (PELS) and the Secretary of State and Department of Revenues for 49 states including the District of Columbia.
